Day 1

Today I arrived in Auckland airport at 11am local time. The trip was long but the joy of finally arriving got the better of the tired. Auckland located in the North Island is the most populated city in New Zealand with approximately 1.3 million inhabitants (more than a quarter of the population) so after lunch I went sightseeing around Queen Street one of the main streets of Auckland, which crosses the city from north to south to do some shopping and explore the surroundings.

Day 2

After recovering tiredness due to jetlag, I went on the trail of the first Maoris, emblematic figures of the region. I learned the history, the culture, the legends, also the history of this country is one of the shortest in the world, because it is one of the last territories discovered by Rights: indeed the Maori arrived there between 1050 and 13005, while the Europeans landed there in 1642. I discovered Tawhiao, the maori’s king between 1822 to 1894, chief of the Waikato tribes and second king of New Zealand.

Day 3

Today I woke up early to go to the War Memorial Museum where I saw the « Selling Dream » exhibition, about a hundred years of fashion photography. then in the afternoon I went to visit the Auckland Zoo where I saw wallabies, porcupines, felines and many other animals. It was impressive to see all these species some of which I knew absolutely not... It was a great day, I learned many things, I saw many things and the last three days were also fabulous.
